Prof. Dato’ Dr. Lokman Saim is Professor of Otorhinolaryngology with special interest in otology and neurotology. His current appointment is at KPJ Healthcare University College as its President and founding Dean School of Medicine, since February 2012. His mission is to initiate postgraduate medical specialty programmes in private healthcare institutions through innovative teaching and training methodology. His clinical work is in the treatment of ear diseases and recovery of hearing. He started the cochlear implant program in Malaysia and assists other centers in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region to establish cochlear implant programs. His main research interest is in tissue engineering in ENT. He is active in professional organizations and is President of ASEAN Academy of Neuro-Oto-Audiology , member of Collegium Otorhinolaryngologicum Amicitea Sacrum (Europe) and Executive Board member of International Federation of Otorhinolaryngology Societies. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Lokman Saim is appointed as Clinical Professor at the Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University since May 2010. He was appointed Dean Faculty of Medicine Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia from 2003 – 2007. In February 2008, he was given the mandate by UKM Vice-Chancellor, to initiate the merger of the Faculty of Medicine UKM and Hospital UKM. With the merger, the UKM Medical Center was established, as an academic medical institution under a single administration that provides excellent patient care, education and research. He was Dean Faculty of Medicine and Director of UKM Medical Center from 2008 – 2011.
